| ....FIRE {{series information}} |
Earth, Air, Fire, Water - the elements of the world that create a balance.
EARTH
Symbolism: Badgermole, the first Earthbenders that are blind but are able to feel the earth and such to manipulate it by their feet.
Attributes: Uses the soil, including rock, metal, and sand, to attack, protect, and create items.
Weaknesses: The person must be touching the ground or anything earth-related to be able to Earthbending.
AIR
Symbolism: Flying Bison, the creatures that can use their tail to attack and fly freely in the skies with ease.
Attributes: Uses the air around them to fly, attack, and protect. Airbenders are serene and peaceful people, who teach that spirituality is important and balance is the key to harmony.
Weaknesses: One weakness made apparent, due to Aang's teaching, he is unable to kill due to the teachings of the Monks at the Northern Air Temple.
FIRE
Symbolism: Dragons, what was to be thought to be extinct, was actually false; these creatures show that the fire comes from life and energy.
Attributes: Uses a person's motivation, their goal, and drive for something in order to attack. The fire can be altered into blue lightning, that is energy from an opponent and redirected back at that opponent.
Weaknesses: As with Zuko, upon joining the Avatar team, finds his goals and mission altered and must set himself back on a path that will drive him to allow him to firebend.
WATER
Symbolism: ???
Attributes: Uses the water sources of the world in order to Waterbend - can create bubbles, ice, and steam. It seems as if water can also be used for healing - in the case of Katara.
Weaknesses: The person must have a source of water near or on them. If in a contained item, the water can be returned to be reused - a helpful tactic if water is scarce.
